Big changes are coming to maternity care. Labor nurses are bracing for major shifts—loss of coverage for our most vulnerable patients, OB unit closures, and more pressure than ever to do more with less. It’s not good news—but it is a moment of reckoning. And within that, there may be a golden opportunity. Speedy Delivery builds on the foundational knowledge of Shifting the Pitocin Paradigm and takes the next step. This class is about strategy—because the question is, without overusing pitocin, how do nurses support faster, safer, smoother deliveries? Lets work smarter, not harder and learn the tools to truly support labor efficiency using physiology. We’ll reframe efficiency not as "faster no matter what" but as progress without unnecessary risk. Revisiting the 5 P’s of labor—Passenger, Passageway, Position, Powers, Psyche—and introduce a 6th P: Provider—we’ll explore real, evidence-based ways to promote labor progress, reduce interventions, and advocate confidently even in high-pressure situations.
